Anthony Chu, D.O., C.A.Q.S.M.

Dr. Chu grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA and is currently living and practicing Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area. His current focus and passion is the musculoskeletal care of musicians.

Dr. Chu attended Providence College in Providence, RI. where he graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science. Dr. Chu received his Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (Cum Laude) from West Chester University in West Chester, PA. He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA where his background in technology awarded him the elected position of class audio/visual representative. He later went to serve as class president as well as was elected to the Council of Leaders for the class of 2012. 

Dr. Chu continued his medical training in Family Medicine in New York City at the Institute for Family Health’s Harlem Residency training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. During residency, he was awarded the Project Medishare scholarship and was given the opportunity to work at Hospital Benard Mevs in Port Au Prince, Haiti. He also served as chief resident and was awarded the resident teaching award during his chief year.

He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Long Beach Memorial Hospital (UCI) where he served as team physician at Long Beach State University (NCAA Division 1) and Cypress Community College. He is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound guided injections.

Aside from medicine, his love for music has been evident for over 20 years and has been playing guitar in bands since the age of 17.
