About the Doctor

Dr. Chu grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA and is currently living and practicing Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area. His current focus and passion is the musculoskeletal care and wellness of musicians.

Dr. Chu attended Providence College in Providence, RI. where he graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science. Dr. Chu received his Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (Cum Laude) from West Chester University in West Chester, PA. He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA where his background in technology awarded him the elected position of class audio/visual representative. He later went to serve as class president as well as was elected to the Council of Leaders for the class of 2012. 

Dr. Chu continued his rigorous medical training in Family Medicine in New York City at the Institute for Family Health’s Harlem Residency training at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. During residency, he was awarded the Project Medishare scholarship and was given the opportunity to work at Hospital Benard Mevs in Port Au Prince, Haiti. He also served as chief resident and was awarded the resident teaching award during his chief year. 

He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Long Beach Memorial Hospital (UCI) where he served as team physician for Long Beach State University and Cypress Community College. He is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound guided injections.

He has worked closely with numerous production companies such as Livenation, Another Planet Entertainment, Goldenvoice along with tour managers.
